Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune

Research Overview

  • The importance of research activity was identified by the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Homoeopathic Medical College since its establishment. Since then BV DU HMC has given priority to improve research related activities within the campus.
  • The Research Cell of BVDUHMC inculcate research culture among the Students and encouraging for novel thinking. This platform provides an opportunity for students to participate in research activity for undergraduate and post graduate level.
  • Regular research conclave is organized yearly for promotion of research. Faculty and students are actively participating in publishing research. In the year 2020-21 we have a total 29 publications in the UGC care list.  
  • Institute has constituted Institutional Ethic Committee.
  • Our Institute promotes faculty members to attend various research seminars & workshops to develop research acumen.
  • Research on Role of Homoeopathy in Cancer, Obesity, Fractures, Acid-peptic disease, Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, etc. have been accomplished till date.
  • Institute utilizes about 1.5 % of the annual budget for Research activities. In 2020-21. Three students were awarded scholarship under the STSH program of CCRH, New Delhi.  
  • On World Homoeopathy Day 2020-21 a P.G. scholar was awarded for Best Dissertation by CCRH.  
  • Under International collaborative search activity a new research study entitled “Pilot study: Assessment of the efficacy of Homeopathic treatment in patients with elevated DASS 21 scores in a multicentric randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study” have been started with GHF,
  • The institution has IEC. 
  • University provides grants (seed money) of Rs 50,000/- for individual research project.
  • Institute timely invites research proposals from the faculty as per the invites from University and from AYUSH. Provision of online database through INFLIBNET.
  • Central library has 14 National & 08 International Research Journals [Total – 22].
  • University has a specialized research centers on campus to address the special challenges of Research projects. Like BV (DU) Interactive Research School for Health affairs (IRSHA), Pune, BV (DU) Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information Technology & Biotechnology (RGITBT), Pune, BV (DU) Research & Development Centre in Pharmaceutical Sciences & Applied Chemistry, Pune.
