  2. To help young physicians understand how to treat judiciously and rationally as a true practitioner of healing art.
  3. To enkindle the flame of research.
  4. To prepare a competent homoeopathic physician who is capable of functioning independently and effectively under rural and urban setups.

Bharati Vidyapeeth's Homoeopathic Medical College was established on 10th May 1990, on the auspicious occasion of the Silver Jubilee Day of the Bharati Vidyapeeth. It was earlier affiliated to University of Pune on a permanent basis. It is now a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). The Homoeopathic Medical College is located in our Dhankawadi campus in a well-designed building. The College building accommodates well-equipped laboratories, dissection halls, spacious demonstration halls and a library with a reading hall facility. The College is having permanent approval of the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi and its annual intake capacity of BHMS course is 100 students. [Ref. No. F.No.16-3/93-CCH/4549.Dt. 14/07/1999 permanently recognized in Ac. Yr. 1999 U.G.].

Post-graduation course in the field of Homoeopathy is the highest step in this science. The objective of this course is to produce excellent professional thinkers, practitioners, researchers and teachers in Homoeopathy. With special emphasis in the subject of their choice.

Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi has accorded permission to our college to start P.G. Courses in Homoeopathy [M.D.(HOM)] from the academic year 2006-2007 in five selected specialities with six (06) regular admissions in each speciality. Two speciality subjects like Pediatrics and Psychiatry will be started soon after permission from Govt. of India. [Approved by F.no.R.14014/05/2005EP Dated 07 August 2006 by Dept. of AYUSH, M/o H. & FW. Govt. of India, New Delhi – 110001, with the recommendation of CCH, New Delhi – 58 only for regular courses.]..

The above mention courses are included in Second Schedule in Homoeopathy Central Council Act. 1973 as per the Gazette of India Notification Dated-7 December 2012.
Our faculty consists of senior teachers, who are enthusiastic, experts in their respective subjects and are student oriented. The college maintains a herbal garden having more than 400 medicinal plants some of which are of rare species.

The College Library is very spacious having 13808 books on Homoeopathy and allied subjects. We also subscribe important National and International periodicals and scientific journals. There is a separate library for Post Graduate students in Homoeopathic Hospital.

The college runs an exclusive Homoeopathic Hospital with 115 bed strength. Our OPD and IPD attract large number of patients and students get good clinical exposure.
 

The college has MOU with CCRH, DELHI and BVDU HMC, PUNE for “LINKING RESEARCH WITH EDUCATION.” Also has another MOU with Willmar Schwabe, India and BVDU HMC, PUNE for “INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAME OF ONE WEEK” for PG students.

The college has accredited for Research & Development Centre by Dept. of AYUSH (1SH & M) Ministry of Health & Family Welfare New - Delhi. As a part of Research activity under R & D center. And has undertaken many research projects for which Govt. of India has sanctioned grants worth Rs. 42,02,500/- and released amount of Rs.25,92,000/- for, in collaboration with IRSHA, BVDU. Other three projects under STSH (Short Term Students Scholarship in Homoeopathy) got sanctioned grant, each of Rs. 10,000/- for the students of Third year BHMS by CCRH, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Urban & Rural camps are organized & conducted regularly at Yawat & Bhor every month since 1997. One monthly and one quarterly Urban & Rural camps regularly arranged & followed by running weekly Rural OPDS through mobile clinics at 8 directions and about 35 to 50 Km distance around the Pune city. The students and Interns benefit from the camps & OPD's by gaining clinical knowledge. Society is benefiting from these Camps & OPD's as medicines available at a very concessional rates

The College not only provides better teaching and clinical facilities to the students, but also organizes various kinds of academic activities including the state and national level seminars and workshops to enrich academic experience of our students.
